A Little Rime

Rime ice on cobblestones. Spray
from Superior carried
by a light, iced wind,
coming on obliquely
to the lay of the shore,
during a cold, breezy night.
The early snow has melted
under the low, dimmer sun
of December afternoons,
and more has yet to come.
